Server update .

so after recent testing , failing , trial and error and failing some more , I’m back at editing this beast and restructuring the mission to fit the moose framework , it seems very promising and although a steep learning curve it seems to be ideal for what I would like to achieve.

If anyone has moose skills and would like to get involved I will be happy to hear from you , still lots to do but I hope the end result of a very immersive dday experience for dcs ww2 and as a vr user I hope to have it optimised for fps if all goes to plan.

Heres a taster…

WW2 Ad Infinitum – more triggers and testing … going well .

some screenshots from the dusk of 5th June 1944 … watching this transition to darkness is eerie and fantastic in equal measure .

the triggers and conditions for lsts to higgins craft then disembarking are set and seem to work ok , now just to get respawns and spawning of random gound units set up to make it feel like a battlefront , nothing easy in DCS but there will be a way . Cheers all.

WW2 Ad Infinitum DCS Server – development progress – **GALLERY 300MB**

well folks Ive had my head buried in the DCS mission editor , mist guide , .lua guides , forums etc etc and now my head hurts 😉 But there has been good progress to be fair – units are in the majority set , scripts and mission mechanics / scoring system / mission win / lose conditions being set , work to do includes respawn random ai ground , air and naval units . Capture points , custom audio for some of these objective points – and all this while trying to keep the .miz file as small as possible. Radios are now set to communicate with “FAC” Forward air controller vehicles , and now to make all actions contribute to overall minnsion win / success ( including loss of airframes / vehicles leading to ticketlosses for your side ) .

I wont lie , ive really bit off a big mouthful here but once you get into it the editor is extremely addictive ( and frustrating in equal measure) but hoping to get something playable out there soon.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – huge props to server owners / runners out there , amazing work you all do . S!

Walsh.

playing through , testing , learning – its been slow but getting there – and man dcs on the ground is pretty great – hopefully some more ww2 CA assets can relly ring this to life – for now some modern assets need to fill the gap ( cough cough ships / gliders / infantry 😉

Day of Infamy … lets make it no 1 for christmas ;)

day of Infamy , what an excellent little ww2 shooter , its popularity has waned in the past few years and its not up to call of duty ww2 in terms of graphics , but as far as an experience goes , its superior in my opinion , add in some superb mods and great teamwork and you have one super solid little ww2 shooter that runs well evenon low spec machines … also a total bargain on G2A at less than £2 … cant say fairer than that really 🙂

Enjoy folks .

Steel Division Normandy – Iron Fist mission … I broke a duck ;)

well … i finally beat this mission lol… this is one of the hardest rts missions I’ve ever did , I tried it about 20 times , tried central thrusts, left flank , right flank , total air power , going all in early , saving up deployment points and going all in later … man .. this mission had me tearing my hair out … what an absolutely fantastic game , super challenging but extremely rewarding when you finally get it right . I wish id video’d it – I ended up holding the left flank until i smashed the central forest , then deployed armor to right flank with air and arty support … once the initial german counter attack was repelled I went on the counter attack in phase c , air took out AT guns , I kept armor away from forests as at troops can smash them …. amazing and very rewarding … eventually 😉
