Christmas … a time to remember

Merry Christmas one and all , its a time for family and friends and a time to be grateful for all that we have … but also a time to remember those who fought to preserve our freedoms and way of life … many of whom paid the ultimate price .

Can I encourage you all to listen to this excellent podcast covering one incident at the battle of the bulge , Christmas , 1944… very moving.

Rejoining my local aviation Society – U.A.S ( Ulster Aviation Society )

getting back to being interested in real life aviation as well as sims so ive rejoined my local aviation Society , The Ulster Aviation Society .

Last I was with them was 20 years ago when they were based at Langford Lodge , and old ww2 B-17 base before the aircraft were dispersed to their actual fields in England . My grandfather worked on that base as a civilian contractor in ww2 and is still there , although the society had to decant to another ww2 base at the Maze , Lisburn when Langford Lodges current owners wished to expand their ejector seat operation.

I’m excited to see the new home of the society and I can highly recommend anyone based in NI to support this society ( i had been meaning to rejoin for about 10 years ) , an absolute bargain at £26 for the family .

IL2 C47’s paratroop drop looks amazing !

well done Il2 , this looks fantastic , I can only hope the c47s have this ability added soon in DCS , the dday operation we worked on and the guys at 4ya executed so well , without the ability to drop paratroopers is a tad annoying 😉 Its still awesome but heres hoping ED enable this soon.
